4,101 people attended the overnight screenings of the Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (Evangelion Shin Gekijō-ban Q Quickening) movie at Tokyo’s Shinjuku Wald 9 theater starting at midnight on Saturday. All nine of the theater’s screens showed the film a total of 17 times overnight.
The Shinjuku Wald 9 movie theater has a total of more than 1,800 seats in the facility. The tickets for the overnight showings had sold out within five minutes of going on sale.
The film opened in 223 theaters across Japan on Saturday. Starting on Saturday, Shinjuku Wald 9 is also screening, for the first time in a theater, Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone and Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance (the latest versions of these two previous films) for a limited time.
