G – Who is Eday in the Gunpla Modelers World? And where do you come from?
E – hi i am originally from indonesia, and spending most of my life in Hong Kong.
G – When did you start building Gunpla?
And when did you made your first Custom?
E – i accidentally started gunpla back in 2004, because in my early life in HongKong i was a toys and figure collector, and most of them are from kamen rider series, no gundam at all as i have no idea at all about gundam during that time, and not a fan. until 2002,one of my friend who also don’t know anything about toys and figure bought me a PG wing gundam as birthday present, and she thought that might be the same as my kamen rider figure and toys. to be honest, when i receive that PG wing, i consider it as “unwanted gift”,because i don’t have any idea what should i do with it. 2 years later, i meet a new friend ( who is my designer now- ivan),he introduce me a lot about the gunpla world, and he show me his OOB work, which i am totally amazed by the outcome, and since then i am turning myself into this gunpla hobby.
That PG wing gift is my very first kit i ever build, i still remember i only use spray can and pen marker, and you know what.. after 2 years later i found out that, that PG wing is actually a bootleg kit lol. but too bad, it’s already damaged.
(2005)my first custom kit would be 1/144 strike gundam iswp, and that is also my very first entry for a local competition organized by Bandai,(as i can remember, its called Gundam Seed MSV competition) and i won the 2nd place.
G – Do you have some inspiration for your creations?
E – PG strike gundam design is my biggest inspiration and motivation for my custom work up to date. i really fell in love with the details of the armor design, and also the inner frame design, which gave a lot of mechanic feel.
G – After you have finished snap-fitting a model, from where do you start to mod it?
E – i seldom snap fit my model kit, as i hate that the most, so most of the time i always bought a second hand kit ( which already snap fitted). but when it goes to modification work, i will always start with the torso, the PISTON part.
G – What do you think about Gunpla in all the World? modelers, attitude, modelers behavior etc..
E – modelers attitude,behavior,…i don’t think i have that capacity to answer that, because in my view, its back again on each individual, its really depends on how people see this hobby,they them self and others. everyone of us is “unique”.
but as a for myself, this hobby is part of my ” escape ” moment after the busy and stress day from office work, and the best part from this hobby is i met a lot of new friends.
G – What do you think about GBWC Event?
E – GBWC is like a deadline for me to finish my kit,lol. it’s a fun and great event, some might having fun,some might take it serious,and very very serious, after all it’s not about life and death.
G – Please some advices for modelers that wanna start building a gunpla for the very first time!
E – to be honest i can’t think of any good advices for a new modelers, because i think there’s a lot of great modelers out there really did a good job in term of giving motivation,technical skill education and inspiration for the new modeler. maybe what i can say is.. be yourself, and do what ever you wanna do, and there’s nothing is perfect.
