G – Who is Douglas.M.Saint in the Gunpla World? And where do you come from?
D – Douglas.M.Saint is my nickname when I joined the internet world. Gunpla and robot toys/figures are my top priority in my hobby collection at present. Most people know me in the Toys Forum in Hong Kong called “Toys Daily” first.
G – When did you start building Gunpla?
And when did you decide to collect them?
D – Of course, as a toys fans aged around 40, my first Gunpla must be no.4 – 1/144 RX-78 (No 78-2 at that time). Anyway, I have no pocket money in my whole life (My family is very poor in my childhood), so I started to collect Limited Gunpla after I graduated from University.
G – Do you have some inspiration for your collections?
D – Most of my collection are robot or non-human form stuff… A general list can be shown as follows:

G – What do you think about Gunpla Merchandising in all the World?
D – As time flies, the marketing of Bandai has changed a lot. Import models all over the world are quite expensive except Hong Kong. From now on, people can get what they want all over the world in the net world no matter in e-bay or auction sites. So, some “special” models was created by Bandai themselves through Premium Bandai. I think it is not a bad deal for all Gunpla lovers at least more choices for us.
G – What do you think about GBWC Event?
D – It is a great event for all Gunpla lovers all over the world! All builders can share their creative stuff and also get ideas from other competitors. And, including me, can share the joy from Gunpla and also Gundam in the event. I’m also lucky to get the autograph from Master Mr. Katsumi Kawaguchi during GBWC (Hong Kong) at 2009. And I can also get some limited Gunpla because of this event (Modelar Cup) too…
G – Please some advices for who wanna start for a very first time a collection of Action Figures
D – Money, space and wife/girlfriend are the biggest enemies for all toys/Gunpla lovers. Except the last one, you should think yourself how much you can spend and how much space which is available in your house. Then, you should ask which character you love most and start to search the products from the web. A lot of toys forums or blogs which have detail reports for the stuff and you can use it as reference before making decision. Most reputable companies have done a good job for their products which are also reliable. Say models and chogokin from Bandai, action figures from 3A, Medicom and Hottoys, statue from Sideshow…etc.
G – Have you a Website/Blog to show your Works or Collectibles?
D – Most of my collection were shown in a Hong Kong Toys Forum – “Toys Daily ” and we have more than 15,000 members already. I’m also a voluntary moderator and make a lot of toys friends there. You can type “Douglas.M.Saint” to search my previous toys reports there.
Further, we also have a fans page called 高達同好聚 (Gundam Gathering) in Facebook which have 11,765 members. Welcome to join if you are Gundam fans and we have a monthly gathering to share the latest news of Gundam or Gunpla during the event.
G – Future Projects? Next Buy?
D – Next buy… As a crazy toys collector, if any new stuff released no matter Gundam, Kamen Rider, Ultraman, Ironman…etc., I’m always ready to pay…
