G – Who is Paweł “Mr_Zinc” Cynk in the Gunpla Modelers World? And where do you come from?
P – Hello Everyone! My name is Paweł Cynk and I come from Poland. I’m just a guy trying to crawl his way back to the hobby after a long break. I’m one of the admins and people behind The Mecha Lounge forums ( http://www.gundamuk.com/mechaloungeforums/index.php ), also I’ve created Mecha Library ( http://zyncium.blogspot.com/p/mecha-library.html ) – a place with scans and pictures of mechs of all kinds.
G – When did you start building Gunpla?
And when did you made your first Custom?
P – I’ve been around, for quite a while IMO. I think i’ve started gunpla around 2008 when I found a First Grade Strike Dagger in an eqivalent of a dollar store, that was a great suprise for me as even after all this years, I haven’t been able to find any gunpla in any other store in Poland, there might be some somewhere but AFAIK online is the only way to get any kits. I’ve been interested in Gundam and Gunpla long before that tough, just couldn’t find any way in to the hobby. That kit also became my first custom, altough i only went for a diffrent color scheme and a simple base. My first REAL custom was my first master grade that i’ve got soon after – MG Impulse Gundam
G – Do you have some inspiration for your creations?
P – It would be easier to say what isn’t 😛 sometimes it can be a lineart for some custom version, sometimes a simple play on words may lead to making something unique. As far as the mods themselves, I often look in to my materials or online and search if someone has already did anything similar to what I have in mind, if that is the case I then look on how they did it, wich is why I really value WIP pictures, after that I always put my own spin on it. What also greatly helps is the fact often hang out with friends on skype while modeling, so we can inspire each other and share ideas.
G – After you have finished snap-fitting a model, from where do you start to mod it?
P – That’s a tough question, I guess I do it on a case-by-case basis. Depends on what I feel like,or what ideas I have on mind at the moment. If I have a little secene or a dio planed, then I will start with posing and making sure they will look realistic
G – What do you think about Gunpla in all the World? modelers, attitude, modelers behavior etc..
P – I’m gonna be honest. Sometimes I’m shocked. In both positive and negative way. I’ve made many great friends thanks to gunpla, and met even more awesome people. But then there can be soooooo muuuuuuch drama. And we really don’t need that. Just as we don’t need and dividing, I will be honest – there isn’t all that many of us. In a perfect world we would all just sit down togheter and have fun building mechs, sadly, we don’t live in a perfect world. I will continue to make friends (hopefully) and try to steer away from any drama I see. In the end – it’s just a hobby, so let’s enjoy it.
G – What do you think about GBWC Event?
P – As much as I love the idea, I don’t think the execution is all that well. My biggest issue is the fact that most of the Europe has no way to participate, and belive me there are some really good modelers here, just like Decay or Kamm or GundamUK or MANY MANY others that it would take way to long to list, that really have a chance at it.
G – Please some advices for modelers that wanna start building a gunpla for the very first time!
P – Make some friends, do your research (read and watch tutorials, look at WIPs) thin your paints, ASK QUESTIONS, honestly people will answer and will try to help you! And most important – keep having fun! It’s a rule number one. If at any point you feel like it’s no more fun, take a break, try something diffrent, maybe scale modelig, maybe miniature painting (like I did) maybe profesional golf. 9/10 of those will help you when you eventualy get back.

G – Future Projects?
P – a LOT, as anyone who knows me will confirm I have waaay to many projects going on at any given time. Mostly I will be finishing MG F91 and working on Wing Zero Custom that i’m building alongside my friend DC23,then my entry for our newest GB on Mecha Lounge: EGB – Elite Group Build, I’m working on a MG GP03 for that one, After that I will be finishing MG Strike with Freedom Striker Pack, then there are some Advance of Zeta modded kits I have in various states, then there are some custom kitbashes I’ve been working on in the meantime and then…. yeah, you get the idea, I have waaay to many started projects…
