Full Info, No.10 official Images
The world of Evangelion returns Aug. 22 with the publication of the second volume of a two-part book featuring original drawings used in producing the animated film “Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo.”
The art book is the 10th in the “Groundwork of Evangelion” series and is A4 size with 384 pages in full color.
The series is published by Khara Inc., the anime studio responsible for the four-part Evangelion film reboot series based on the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” TV series.
The latest publication comes a year and a half after “Evangelion 3.0” was theatrically released in November 2012.
The book will contain illustrations, sketches and layouts used for the production of the second half of the film. Thousands of illustrations were scanned and carefully retouched so that original illustrations drawn with colored pencils are faithfully reproduced.
In addition to regular bookstores, the art book will also be available online at the Evangelion Store shopping site.
Khara’s art books are also published as learning tools for those aspiring to work in the animation industry and want to gain professional expertise from the studio’s commitment to quality.
Meanwhile, the Evangelion Exhibition is currently on tour nationwide. Sponsored by The Asahi Shimbun, the art exhibition kicked off in summer 2013 at Matsuya Ginza department store in Tokyo.
The exhibition is currently at the Sogo Museum of Art in the Sogo Yokohama department store in Yokohama and run until Sept. 7.
The tour will move on to the cities of Takamatsu, Ube city in Yamaguchi Prefecture, and Kumamoto.
