HGUC 1/144 Gundam Mk-II (A.E.U.G)
I thought the orange GM that appears in the movie Cucuruz Doan’s Island was cool, so I built a Mark II I had on hand in a Federation style.
I also added a shoulder cannon-style weapon. The main body was well-balanced and had nice details, so I redid the mold and built it almost straight.
Orange: Eva Orange
Light gray: Ex White, Neutral Gray IV (1:1)
Dark gray: Neutral Gray IV
Green: Emerald Green
I used Mecha Surface Heavy for all the base coats (I should have used a lighter surfacer for the orange…)
I used Weathering Master to give the verniers a blue tan.
I made the cannon by connecting surplus parts from the System Weapon Kit, etc., but it’s more movable than I expected.
I sharpened the antenna, and since the jaw felt short, I extended it with plastic sheet. I attached the mask back in place and finished the seams on the helmet.
Fully equipped (I forgot to attach the bazooka…)
The kit had fewer seams than the previous HGUC kit and was easier to assemble. I feel like the polycaps on mine didn’t hold as well as they should.
The Mark II is simply cool, it’s good to have as many as you can.
A shot with the same colored Zeta. I thought it would be easier if I painted them the same color at the same time! But I ended up struggling twice as much as usual…
