From the Modeler:

I tried my hand at a change of pace, and finished a Mechanical Bust Sazabi.
I started this as a testbed to see if I should paint the kit I’m currently working on with a glossy or candy paint, but it’s pretty cool.
It was in a capsule, so the parts were warped and the surface was pretty bad… It was a good opportunity to reaffirm how well made the Gunpla was

In the end, I polished it using Tamiya compound, in the order of “coarse,” “fine,” and “finishing.”
I wasn’t skilled enough to make it as shiny as a mirror, but it was fun to try candy for the first time.

This is without the Luminous Unit.
I actually drilled holes in the places that looked like holes.

The surface of the chest part was very wavy, so I scraped off the convex mold, flattened it, and then molded metal beads.

This is the front. Some parts of the internal mechanism were painted with a brush.
I used wrapping tape from a 100 yen store for the camera on the forehead.

This is the left side.
I wanted to make it a little more shiny.
I wonder if it will glow if I polish it some more?

The back.
I painted the cooling fin-like parts on the back and the negative molded parts separately.
I didn’t want to put too much effort into it, so this is the only part I painted using masking.

Mono-eye luminous unit OFF

Mono-eye luminous unit ON.

Chest luminous unit ON.
It’s hard to get just the high-megapixel parts to glow properly.

It looks like it’s about to explode lol
