SUKE彡’s Amazing Remodeling Work!!! MG 1/100 S Gundam (Refined style): full info, images and credits
From the Modeler:
I modified the MG S Gundam (old version) to give it a refined version feel.
The head and shoulders, which had been discarded after previous failed modifications, have been restored using digital models.
The head has been made smaller and the shoulders larger to give it a refined version feel.
Other parts have been shortened and extended with putty and plastic sheet to change their shape.
Overall view
Modifications other than the head and shoulders include
Enlarging the beam cannon on the back
Chest: Narrowed the width by about 1mm on both sides toward the front, added 1.5-style details, and added a VHF antenna
Torso: Shortened by 4mm and made the white exterior part of the abdomen R with putty
Arms: Extended the upper arms by 2mm, added blue hexagons on the forearms Cut into shape unit and install slide
Waist: Waist beam cannon frame shortened by 3mm and shifted to leg side
Rear wing: Enlarged by about 1.2 times
Legs: Thighs extended by 2mm, exterior of knee beam saber storage extended by 10mm, added paneling from refined illustration to exterior, toes extended by 3mm
Smart gun: Modified to rapid-fire barrel
Rapid-fire smart gun
Since BST is not re-released, barrel part was created
Digital mosaic of head
Added details from Sentinel special edition while referring to Metarobo’s shape
Remade neck joint due to miniaturization
It was quite a struggle, It took about two years
Shoulder digital model
To check the balance, the torso was measured and modeled, and the rough shape was calculated
and details were added
The slide was added to the production
A movable axis that was not present in the MG was added inside the shoulder, so that when the arm is extended forward, the shoulder can be extended forward while facing forward
This and the next forearm slide were introduced as a test of something to be produced later
Forearm slide
In the illustration, it is divided into blue units and slides
I tried introducing it as a test
This is the shape with only the head and shoulders attached, and initially it was supposed to end with this I was going to make it like that, but I felt that the boxy feel of the chest and abdomen, the length of the abdomen, and the shortness of the arms were quite different from the original drawing, so I decided to make some corrections.
This is the shape after correction ①.
The boxy feel of the chest is a little too strong, and the beam cannon on the back feels a little small, so I made some corrections.
I wanted the beam cannon on the back to have a perfect circle shape, so I machined it out of aluminum and put it over the one in the kit to make it larger.
Shape after correction ②
I made the beam cannon larger and corrected the shape of the chest, and the corrections are complete.
