In the special venue on the first floor, various technologies will be exhibited in three corners that connect the future depicted in Gundam with the present.

1. Space Age of Technology ~ Technology leading to the space age ~

In the world of Gundam, life in space is depicted. Various space development projects currently underway for the advancement of humanity into space aim to make future dreams and hopes a reality through science and technology.

Various space technologies, such as space colonies that also appear in Gundam, will be exhibited in various ways from the perspectives of “space,” “environment,” and “technology.”

2. The Possibility of MS (Mobile Suits) ~ The Possibility of General-Purpose Humanoid Robots ~

Mobile suits as an extension of “human” physical abilities in outer space. The technical aspects of this will be presented in various experiential exhibits, introducing the latest robot technology, etc. At the venue, visitors can experience a realistic robot operation experience and touch robots that may be used in future space work and disaster sites. Visitors can also experience the fun of operating robots inspired by the Gundam series, etc.

3. Innovation of Future Lifestyle

Technology for humans to live in space. This means looking back at the Earth’s environment from space. Can we verify the technology of “food” and “living” in space and use the feedback to improve the current Earth’s environment? We will consider the possibilities of that future.

What is Mobile Suit Gundam?

Mobile Suit Gundam, which began broadcasting in 1979, has a realistic depiction of warfare in which robots are treated as “weapons” called “mobile suits,” meticulous scientific research, and a complex and deep human drama. It established the genre of “real robot anime” that could not be described as a simple moral triumph over evil, which had been the trend in robot anime up until then, and sparked a huge boom.

Since then, the series has been produced as 24 TV animations, 30 theatrical and cinematic works, 27 OVAs, and many streaming, event, and TV specials, and has long been highly popular both domestically and internationally.
