Black Rock Shooter Gets Manga in Young Ace This June

The June issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace magazine announced on Monday that Sanami Suzuki  is launching a manga adaptation of huke’s Black Rock Shooter franchise in the next issue on June 4. Young Ace promises that Black Rock Shooter “Innocent Soul” will be “a Black Rock Shooter that no one has seen before.”

The story follows a girl in Hazama (Threshold), a world beween Heaven and Earth. “Impure souls” — those that could not ascend to Heaven with the burden of their own weight — have drifted to this world of constant warfare.

The franchise has already inspired figures, anime, and games. The artist ringo launched the Black Rock-chan four-panel manga in the inaugural issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s 4-Koma Nano Ace magazine in March.

The July issue of Young Ace will bundle a “life-size” poster of the Evangelion character Rei Ayanami, a reversible writing board (shitajiki) of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, and alternate volume covers for the Blood Lad and Daisuki desu!! Mahō Tenshi Cosmos manga as bonus supplemental extras. (via Animenewsnetwork)
